ARE YOU READY TO BE A PET OWNER?
Here are some questions you can ask yourself, if you answer NO to any of these, you aren't ready for Pet ownership.
-
Is your current pet spayed or neutered?
-
Can you afford a pet? (I will break this down later)
-
Do you have the time to spend with a pet?
-
Can you provide adequate housing for the pet?
-
Do you have the tolerance for a pet?
-
Have you considered where your pet would go if you travel?
-
Is everyone in your household in agreement to getting the new pet?
Not every breed is good for every person. DO THE RESEARCH! Look up pets that are most suitable to you. For Example.. You prefer to go out a lot...Then you need to find an animal who can be left alone for longer periods of time without attention. In my experience, Cats are the type of animal who will fend for themself most of the day without ever coming to you for something. That DOESN'T mean you can leave them alone for days on end without attention! Let me make that clear.
All of these things are very important questions to ask yourself BEFORE deciding on bringing a pet into your home.

Now, after reading those things can you afford to own a pet?
If your answer is NO, then perhaps you can do the alternative. Thousands of Shelters and rescues need help with the animals they've taken in. If you can't volunteer your time, perhaps you can volunteer some money, OR all shelters and rescues NEED towels, Pet food, crates, toys, bedding, newspaper, puppy pads and medication. They ALWAYS need help with those. If you can help then please do. DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER PETS DIE! You will find many of variety of pets in shelters. One to fit each person and their life-style. Don't be lazy. Go to the shelters!
